Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has expanded its domestic flight network by introducing nine destinations, strengthening air connectivity between the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and several important tourism, cultural and business centres across India.

According to operational data, the airport has recorded a cumulative 35,88,675 passenger movements since beginning operations. This figure includes both arriving and departing passengers, reflecting the airport’s growing role in regional air travel.

The newly added destinations are Agatti, Darbhanga, Guwahati, Jalgaon, Jodhpur, Ranchi, Bagdogra, Sindhudurg and Udaipur. The expansion offers travellers additional options for reaching destinations across Rajasthan, Bihar, the Northeast, North Maharashtra, the Konkan region and Lakshadweep.

Jodhpur and Udaipur provide access to Rajasthan’s historic forts, palaces and lakes, while Darbhanga serves the Mithila region of Bihar. Guwahati connects passengers to Assam and other parts of the Northeast. Bagdogra offers convenient access to popular destinations such as Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Sikkim.

The addition of Sindhudurg is expected to improve connectivity to the Konkan coast, known for its beaches and forts. Jalgaon provides access to North Maharashtra and the Ajanta heritage region. Agatti, accessible through Goa-Mopa, offers another travel route towards Lakshadweep.

Of the total passenger movements recorded, 35,80,233 were domestic and 8,442 were international. The airport handled 17,87,298 arriving passengers, while departures accounted for 18,01,377. However, the operational figures do not specify the precise period covered by these cumulative totals.

NMIA has also recorded 27,185 scheduled aircraft movements, comprising 27,111 domestic and 74 international movements. In addition, it handled 493 cargo aircraft movements and 961 general aviation movements.

The airport’s international cargo network has expanded to 45 destinations served by 18 airlines in less than three months since cargo operations began.
