A three-bedroom apartment in Thane showcases a carefully balanced interior style, bringing together bold colours, muted shades and natural materials. Designed by Tan Teal Studio, the residence draws inspiration from the idea that “Muted tones whisper elegance, deep shades tell a story,” using contrasting elements to create a home that feels sophisticated yet welcoming.
Black and white establish the primary colour scheme, while oak wood and sage green introduce warmth and softness. Each bedroom has its own identity, with neutral shades of grey, beige and green complemented by dark accents, white surfaces and carefully chosen textures.

The entrance sets the tone through clean architectural lines, understated finishes and warm details. Wooden mouldings, polished to highlight the material’s natural character, add continuity across the interiors. At the foyer, a shoe cabinet featuring fabric-sandwiched glass conceals its contents while maintaining a visually light appearance.
The living room combines black-and-white detailing with warm wooden finishes and comfortable furniture. Linear patterns created through dark wooden strips extend across the walls and curtains, establishing a consistent visual rhythm. Open shelves made from natural maple wood introduce an organic contrast through their retained edges and textures.

Green furnishings and indoor plants add freshness, while integrated storage across display units, television consoles and wardrobes meets the family’s practical requirements without making the rooms feel crowded.
Each bedroom follows the apartment’s broader design language while reflecting individual preferences. The parents’ room features contrasting black-and-white doors with matching geometric detailing. Another bedroom uses a distinctive geometric headboard, paired with a large white-finished wardrobe designed to appear less imposing. A separate book corner adds a personal touch. The third bedroom introduces sage and muted green shades alongside wooden finishes.

Layered ambient, accent and functional lighting highlights textures and architectural details. Across the home, restrained panelling, natural materials and recurring linear elements bring together contemporary styling and classical influences, creating a cohesive and comfortable living environment.
