The FIRST Construction Council (FCC), part of the ASAPP Info Global Group, will host the third edition of the Mumbai Redevelopment Summit 2026 on Wednesday, November 4, at the Radisson Blu near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Held under the theme “Rebuilding Mumbai: From Redevelopment to Urban Transformation”, the event will examine the challenges and opportunities shaping the city’s housing and infrastructure landscape. More than 1,000 redevelopment projects have been launched since 2020, while around 13,500 cessed buildings are awaiting replacement, highlighting the scale of work ahead.
MHADA CEO to Attend as Chief Guest
Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President and CEO of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), will attend as the chief guest.
The summit is expected to bring together real estate developers, government representatives, housing society members, financial institutions, architects, project management consultants, contractors and construction technology providers. Discussions will centre on ways to make redevelopment projects more efficient, financially sustainable and safer.
Cluster Redevelopment and Project Financing on Agenda
Key sessions will explore emerging redevelopment opportunities and promising micro-markets across Mumbai. Participants will examine cluster-based projects, including land consolidation, infrastructure requirements and financial feasibility.
Other subjects include project expenditure, funding arrangements, expected returns and risk management. The summit will also address the risks associated with projects extending over eight to 10 years, with discussions on contractual safeguards and measures to manage delays.
Self-redevelopment will be another major topic, covering financing options, professional management and project execution.
Rehabilitation and Technology in Focus
The programme will also examine rehabilitation through the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), MHADA schemes and the redevelopment of cessed buildings.
Construction-related discussions will cover the application of artificial intelligence, Building Information Modelling (BIM), precast technology and methods to improve project efficiency.
Another key theme will be the need to strengthen infrastructure before increasing urban density, ensuring that redevelopment is supported by adequate civic facilities and services.
The event aims to encourage collaboration among stakeholders as Mumbai navigates its next phase of urban transformation.
