Markolines Wins Rs 135.20-Crore BMC Contracts To Resurface Mumbai’s Eastern & Western Express Highways

Mumbai-based road infrastructure development has received a boost after Markolines Pavement Technologies secured two contracts worth a combined Rs 135.20 crore, including GST, from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for improving the Eastern and Western Express Highways. The company announced receiving the letters of acceptance-cum-work orders on November 5, 2026.

The projects will focus on resurfacing important sections of the city’s two major arterial roads using microsurfacing technology, which helps restore pavement conditions and improve road durability.

The first contract, valued at Rs 63.23 crore, involves upgrading selected stretches of the Eastern Express Highway. The work will use specialised microsurfacing treatments to improve the existing road surface and maintain its condition.

The second order, worth Rs 71.97 crore, covers improvements to the main carriageway of the Western Express Highway. Similar microsurfacing techniques will be deployed to enhance pavement quality and support road maintenance along the busy corridor.

With these additions, Markolines Pavement Technologies’ total unexecuted order book has increased to Rs 624.22 crore. The fresh contracts further strengthen its project portfolio and expand its participation in Mumbai’s urban road infrastructure and highway maintenance sector.

Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Patil said the latest orders demonstrate the company’s technical expertise and reinforce its position in road maintenance and rehabilitation. He also highlighted the significance of securing assignments involving major transportation routes.

Established in 2002, Markolines Pavement Technologies specialises in highway operations, road maintenance and pavement rehabilitation. The company has undertaken more than 5,670 lane kilometres of highway maintenance projects across several states in India.

The latest BMC awards provide the company with additional execution opportunities while supporting the maintenance of two crucial road corridors connecting different parts of Mumbai and its metropolitan region.

Going forward, the timely completion of the projects, efficient execution and conversion of the order book into revenue will remain key factors influencing the company’s business performance.
