September 26, 2025: The Central Railway has announced major traffic and power blocks to facilitate crucial infrastructure works scheduled between September 27 and September 30, 2025. The projects include the launch of Foot Over Bridge (FOB) girders at Byculla and Sion stations, along with pre-non-interlocking work at Karjat station. These works are expected to impact the movement of several Mail, Express, and Suburban trains during the period.
At Byculla, a special night block will be carried out on September 28, with operations on both the UP and DOWN slow and fast lines between Byculla and Parel suspended from 12.30 am to 4.30 am. During the same night, another block will affect services between Dadar and Kurla, with the slow and fast lines closed between 1.10 am and 4.10 am.
The disruption will lead to regulation and short-term termination of some long-distance services. Train no. 11020, the Bhubaneshwar–CSMT Konark Express, will be held at Kurla between 3.28 am and 4.15 am before being short-terminated at Dadar. Similarly, train no. 12810, the Howrah–CSMT Express, will be regulated at Thane from 3:43 am to 4:00 am and will also terminate its journey at Dadar instead of CSMT.
Suburban operations will also be significantly affected during the block. Several services have been cancelled, including the Dadar–Kurla local at 10:18 pm, the Kalyan–CSMT local at 11:15 pm, the CSMT–Thane local at 12:24 am, and the Thane–CSMT local at 4:04 am. In addition, the Kasara–CSMT local scheduled to leave at 10 pm will be short-terminated at Thane at 11.49 pm, while the CSMT–Kasara local at 4.19 am will begin its journey from Thane at 5.14 am.
According to Central Railway, other Mail and Express services, including special trains and those running late, will be diverted or adjusted as per operational requirements.
