The interiors feature a sleek, minimalist aesthetic, with polished marble walls, stainless-steel fittings, and well-lit concourses creating a clean, futuristic ambience.

The spacious platform area has been thoughtfully designed to ensure smooth passenger movement, equipped with wide walkways, escalators, digital information boards, and accessibility features for all commuters. Gleaming floors and ambient lighting add to the premium look and feel, symbolising a new era in Mumbai’s public transport experience. Signage is displayed in both English and Marathi, ensuring easy navigation and inclusivity.

Strategically located, Mahalaxmi Metro Station is set to become a key interchange point in the city’s expanding metro network. It connects directly with the Western Railway’s Mahalaxmi suburban station and provides convenient transfers to the Monorail, improving connectivity to central and southern Mumbai. Its location also offers direct access to landmarks such as the Mahalaxmi Racecourse and the renowned Haji Ali Dargah, making it valuable for daily commuters as well as tourists.

Officials from the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) have described the new station as a “symbol of the city’s evolving infrastructure.” The station forms part of the 33.5-kilometre underground Colaba–Bandra–SEEPZ corridor, a major infrastructure project aimed at reducing road congestion and cutting travel time across the metropolis.

With its modern design, strategic positioning, and state-of-the-art facilities, the Mahalaxmi Metro Station embodies Mumbai’s progress towards a faster, cleaner, and more efficient urban transit system. Its unveiling marks a significant milestone in the city’s journey towards sustainable mobility and improved commuter comfort.
