October 27, 2025: The Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP) will launch a two-week documentation drive across Dharavi from November 1 to 15 to collect pending eligibility documents from residents. The initiative is aimed at ensuring that every eligible household is included in the government’s ambitious redevelopment scheme, leaving no family behind.
According to official data, over one lakh Dharavi residents have already completed their household surveys. The upcoming drive will help verify unprocessed or partially completed cases to bring them under the completed category.
“It is a major outreach initiative to verify and complete unprocessed or partially verified cases. All these households will be covered through focused engagement and documentation to convert them into a completed status. We request all residents to proactively come forward and complete their survey documentation at our designated document collection centres,” a DRP official said.
The official added, “The DRP has started releasing the Draft Annexure-II, giving priority to residents who have already completed their household survey. Those who are finishing their surveys now, or have just started, will be included in the next round of lists.”
The “mega documentation camp” will be jointly managed by the DRP and the Government of Maharashtra, with support from NMDPL teams. Sector-wise offices will be set up under Deputy Collectors, Tehsildars, and Surveyors to manage document scrutiny and grievance redressal.
NMDPL will deploy field surveyors and operate a central call centre to guide residents regarding schedules and necessary documents. The documentation centres will function all seven days of the week from 10 am to 6 pm, with a lunch break between 1 pm and 2 pm.
Officials said the campaign marks a crucial step in accelerating the verification process and ensuring inclusive participation in Dharavi’s long-awaited redevelopment journey.
