The diversion, overseen by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), involved close coordination with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s planning and hydraulic engineering teams. Line 7A, spanning 3.4 km, features a mix of elevated and underground sections running along the Western Express Highway and Sahar Elevated Road. Once operational, it will provide direct metro access to the airport, reducing reliance on congested roads and feeder services.

Previous relocations, including sewer realignments via micro‑tunnelling, set the stage for uninterrupted progress.
