MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde Reviews Garden Redevelopment & Sports Infrastructure Projects In Ambernath

In an effort to strengthen civic amenities and recreational infrastructure in Ambernath, MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde on Wednesday inspected several redevelopment projects across the town, including a renovated public garden, an upcoming sports complex, and another civic redevelopment project in east Ambernath.

One of the key projects reviewed was the recently upgraded Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee Garden, formerly known as Atal Suryoday Garden. Located in the ward represented by Shiv Sena corporators Kunal Bhoir and Aparna Bhoir, the garden has recently been reopened for public use after redevelopment work was completed.

During the visit, Shinde assessed the facilities created within the park and directed civic officials to maintain high standards in public infrastructure development. Officials stated that the redevelopment was carried out after incorporating suggestions from local residents while preserving the open-space nature of the ground.

The upgraded garden now includes covered seating areas, a children’s play zone, two badminton courts, and traditional-style seating arrangements designed to create a more visitor-friendly environment. Authorities have also developed a synthetic jogging track for residents who regularly use the park for morning and evening walks. Civic officials added that special care was taken to preserve greenery and open areas during the redevelopment process.

Later, the MP visited the site of the proposed sports complex in west Ambernath. According to officials, the project will feature indoor and outdoor sports facilities aimed at providing professional-level infrastructure for local athletes and sports enthusiasts. Shinde instructed the administration to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining construction quality.

He also reviewed ongoing redevelopment work at the Hutatma Chowk garden in east Ambernath. The project includes plans for an art gallery and an open-air stage, which authorities expect will host future cultural and community events.

Among those present during the inspections were Balaji Kinikar, municipal council president Tejashree Karanjule, deputy president Sadashiv Patil, Shiv Sena office-bearer Rajesh Kadam, former municipal president Sunil Chaudhary, corporator Ravindra Karanjule, along with civic officials and local party workers.
