Mumbai’s Arabian Sea has long been one of the city’s most prized natural assets, and for many celebrities, a home overlooking the coastline is as much about tranquillity as it is about luxury. Beyond their striking interiors and bespoke architecture, these residences use uninterrupted sea views as an integral part of their design, creating spaces that balance privacy, comfort and elegance.

Gayatri Oberoi’s Contemporary Mansion In Juhu
Businesswoman Gayatri Oberoi’s sea-facing residence in Juhu is a nine-storey home designed by AD100 Italia architect Piero Lissoni. The property features two separate entrances, a circular driveway and two architecturally distinct staircases that divide public and private spaces.
“It’s a large home but every corner is designed with intention. I’m a bit of a staircase fanatic—there’s one for public use and one for private, each with its own architectural identity,” says Lissoni.

Speaking about choosing the architect, Gayatri says, “We’ve always connected with the purity and poetry of his design. His understanding of materiality, light and proportion feels effortless yet deeply intelligent.”
The residence also includes a private cinema, spa, gym and expansive entertainment spaces designed for hosting large gatherings.
Jaaved Jaaferi’s Warm And Earthy Seaside Home
Actor Jaaved Jaaferi’s 7,000 sq ft sea-facing home embraces earthy tones, textured finishes and handcrafted elements that complement the Arabian Sea backdrop. Designed with a Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic, the residence combines rustic materials with contemporary furnishings.

Reflecting on the collaborative design process, Jaaved says, “this place is a combination of three varying sensibilities.” His son Meezaan adds, “One thing we’ve all agreed on are the textured walls which run throughout the house.”
The home also features a cosy reading corner filled with travel artefacts, books and an extensive DVD collection.
Madhuri Dixit’s Art-Filled Residence
Madhuri Dixit and Dr Shriram Nene’s home celebrates art, music and technology while offering panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. Paintings by renowned artist M.F. Husain form the centrepiece of the interiors.
“Husain Ji wanted to paint the walls of my home, but I objected on the account of moving, so he painted me some of his finest works,” says Madhuri. “I just love the colours he used; it pops out.”

The residence also features a music room, home theatre, gourmet kitchen and smart home automation, which Dr Nene describes as “a fortress of solitude where the family can explore all their passions.”
Ishaan Khatter’s Creative Bandra Apartment
Actor Ishaan Khatter’s three-bedroom apartment along Bandra sea face reflects his artistic personality. Designed with eclectic décor, textured walls, vintage Bollywood posters and abundant greenery, the home prioritises comfort over formality.

Sharing his ideal weekend, Ishaan says, “On Sunday mornings, when time permits, I slip off for a bike ride. In the evenings, I like to watch the sunset with some music and coffee.”
The relaxed interiors mirror his lifestyle while making the Arabian Sea an ever-present backdrop.
Jasleen Royal’s Calm Seaside Retreat
Singer-songwriter Jasleen Royal’s 2,300 sq ft Juhu apartment embraces simplicity, natural light and peaceful living. Her bedroom is designed in soft white tones overlooking the sea.
“While there are playful pops of colour across the space, my bedroom is completely white and stripped back,” she says. “It’s where I go to completely shut down after meditating every night.”

Royal describes her sea-facing terrace as “definitely the soul of the house,” adding, “In a city like Bombay, finding that little pocket of quiet is so rare.”
Together, these celebrity homes demonstrate how Mumbai’s sea-facing residences seamlessly combine thoughtful architecture, personalised interiors and breathtaking coastal views to create some of the city’s most inspiring living spaces.
