Dronagiri Railway Overbridge Lane Closed Till October 31 For Structural Repairs

One lane of the Railway Over Bridge near MSEB Colony and the Gas Turbine Power Station (GTPS) in Dronagiri, Navi Mumbai, has been shut temporarily to allow structural repair work. The closure will remain in place from August 21 to October 31, 2026.

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is carrying out repair work on the bridge’s retaining wall (RE wall) and the approach slab section. The temporary traffic restriction has been approved by the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police through the required No Objection Certificate (NOC).

During the repair period, motorists crossing the bridge have been asked to use the designated alternative lane. CIDCO has urged commuters to cooperate with the traffic arrangements and follow the diversion in place.

Drivers have also been advised to exercise caution while passing through the affected stretch. Motorists have been asked to reduce their speed and use vehicle blinkers and reflective strips, particularly while navigating the diverted section, to improve visibility and minimise the risk of accidents.

The single-lane closure is scheduled to continue until October 31, though the restriction may be lifted earlier if the repair work is completed ahead of schedule.

The traffic arrangements have been introduced to enable the structural repairs to be undertaken safely while maintaining vehicle movement through the bridge. Commuters using the Dronagiri route during this period are expected to factor in the temporary restriction and follow directions issued by traffic personnel.
