Actor Amrita Rao and her husband, radio personality RJ Anmol, have offered a glimpse into their Mumbai residence, revealing an interior that combines soft colours, personalised decor and artwork with strong sentimental value.
The couple’s home was featured during an episode of Farah Khan’s vlog, showcasing a predominantly pink-inspired aesthetic across several spaces. A striking pink entrance door immediately establishes the colour theme, while neutral walls provide contrast and prevent the interiors from appearing overwhelming.
Inside, a peach-toned sofa adds warmth to the living area, complementing the softer shades used elsewhere in the home. Mirror-panelled walls contribute depth and reflect light, while an artwork featuring Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn, inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany’s, adds a cinematic touch to the decor.
The home’s most significant piece, however, is an original painting by celebrated Indian artist MF Husain. The artwork is particularly meaningful to Rao as it is understood to have been inspired by her 2006 film Vivah.
Rao has previously spoken about her association with Husain and recalled an unusual experience involving the artist during the home tour. According to the actress, Husain invited her and her mother to Dubai, where he wanted to paint her while observing her in person.
The artist was reportedly interested in seeing whether Rao’s real-life personality matched the image he had formed of her through Vivah. Rao also revealed that she received Husain’s paintbrush bearing his signature, adding another personal dimension to the connection.
The residence brings together coordinated furniture, artwork and colour choices while retaining a relatively understated character. Rather than relying solely on conventional luxury elements, the interiors reflect the couple’s personal memories and interests.
Rao, who made her Bollywood debut with Ab Ke Baras in 2002, gained wider recognition with Ishq Vishk and subsequently appeared in films including Main Hoon Na and Vivah. She was most recently seen in Jolly LLB 3, alongside Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi.
Together, the home’s pastel palette, statement entrance, reflective surfaces and treasured artwork create a distinctly personal Mumbai residence.
