Actor Akshaye Khanna has reportedly purchased a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s prestigious Malabar Hill for Rs 33.26 crore. According to property registration records reviewed by Square Yards, the transaction was registered in September 2026 and involves a residence at 30 Little Gibbs on Malabar Hill Road.
The apartment spans 2,341.39 sq ft (217.52 sq m) of carpet area and includes an additional 175.45 sq ft (16.29 sq m) balcony. Including the balcony, the total area comes to 2,516.84 sq ft (233.82 sq m). The property also comes with three parking spaces.
Documents available through the Maharashtra Inspector General of Registration (IGR) indicate that the transaction attracted stamp duty of approximately ₹1.99 crore. The registration fee for the purchase was ₹30,000.
Malabar Hill is among Mumbai’s most sought-after residential neighbourhoods, particularly for luxury homebuyers. Situated in South Mumbai and overlooking the Arabian Sea, the locality is known for its premium residences, established neighbourhoods and limited availability of large homes.
The area also offers convenient access to several important parts of Mumbai. Marine Drive, Nariman Point and Colaba can be reached through major roads including Nepean Sea Road, Walkeshwar Road and Pedder Road. Business districts such as Fort, Nariman Point and Lower Parel are also within relatively easy reach, strengthening the area’s appeal among senior professionals and high-net-worth individuals.
Malabar Hill is surrounded by several prominent landmarks, including Hanging Gardens, Kamala Nehru Park, Banganga Tank and Walkeshwar Temple. The neighbourhood also benefits from established schools, hospitals, restaurants and retail destinations.
Khanna, who has appeared in films including Dil Chahta Hai, Drishyam and Section 375, has continued to attract attention for his recent work. His performance in Chhaava received acclaim, while his appearance in Dhurandhar has further kept the actor in the public spotlight.
The reported acquisition adds another high-value celebrity property transaction to Mumbai’s luxury real estate market, where premium homes in established South Mumbai locations continue to command substantial values.
