MMRDA Invites Bids for Six Key Infrastructure Projects to Alleviate Congestion

On Tuesday, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) invited bids for six significant new infrastructure projects aimed at reducing congestion in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Primarily focused on Thane, these projects had their tenders issued several months ago.

The initiatives include the expansion of the Eastern Freeway from Chedda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane, estimated at Rs 12.80 Crore; Phase 3 of the Airoli Katai Naka Elevated Corridor, costing Rs 9.43 Crore; the construction of a creek bridge from Gaimukh on Godbunder Road, Thane to Payegaon on Chinchoti-Anjur Phata Road, priced at Rs 4.64 Crore; the construction of a creek bridge from Kasarvadavli to Kharbav in Thane, costing Rs 7.26 Crore; an 8.5 km elevated road in Thane city from Anand Nagar to Saket on the Eastern Express Highway; and a 13-km Thane Coastal Road project from Balkum to Gaimukh in Thane.
