Ten-hour block on the Western Railway between Kandivali and Goregaon :Sixth Line’s Construction

In order to enable the construction of the sixth line between Goregaon and Kandivali, a 10-hour block was implemented on Sunday between midnight and 10 am on the Up and Down slow lines and the Down fast line between Goregaon and Kandivali stations.

The barrier caused a 10-to 20-minute delay in the Mail and Express trains. During the block, a few suburban trains were canceled or short-circuited, which caused difficulty to passengers on Sunday morning.

According to WR chief spokesperson Vineet Abhishek, all UP slow line trains were run on the Up fast line from Borivali to Goregaon during the block. In a similar vein, all trains on the Down slow line from Andheri ran on the Down fast line, arriving at Goregaon station’s platform No. 7.

“All down slow line trains between Goregaon and Borivali stations ran on the fifth line; these trains did not stop at Ram Mandir, Malad, or Kandivali stations because there were no platforms available. A few Churchgate-Borivali slow train services were also reversed and short-terminated from Goregaon station, the speaker continued.
