Mulund’s MHADA Colony, which is frequently afflicted by significant traffic congestion, is anticipated to see respite shortly. The municipal corporation has announced plans to construct a link road connecting the colony to the Eastern Motorway. During peak hours, vehicles on the MHADA Colony route are trapped in traffic for up to 25 minutes or more, often causing a half-hour delay.
To address these persistent traffic challenges, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation plans to build a crucial missing connection on the Eastern Motorway. The new route is expected to reduce local commuters’ journey time by 15-20 minutes.
According to a report by News 18, the municipal corporation has also announced plans to create two additional roads in the Mulund region. This is expected to cost approximately Rs 33.22 crore. Because Mithagar property is required for the project, the municipal corporation is attempting to transfer the land. The company has filed a proposal to the Central Government for the allotment of land. Officials expect that the land will be allotted soon.
According to the article, the design calls for the construction of a 70-metre-long, 18.3-metre-wide road. The road department has assured the local inhabitants that as soon as they acquire all necessary clearances from the government and the tender process is completed, they will start the construction.
