Commuters at Andheri railway station will face temporary inconvenience as the south-side staircase leading to the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) is set to be closed for replacement from 7 April to 6 June. Authorities have advised passengers to use alternative staircases and bridges during this period to ensure smooth movement.
The replacement is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving commuter safety and accessibility at one of Mumbai’s busiest railway stations. Officials have urged passengers to plan their travel accordingly and follow signage directing them to alternative routes.
Even though the closure can result in short-term inconveniences, once the new staircase is finished, it should increase safety and improve passenger flow.
