These homes are offered under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). “Citizens seeking affordable homes are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity,” said Revati Gaikar, Chief Officer of the Konkan Board. The revised prices were approved by Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS), Vice President and CEO of MHADA.

According to the official statement, the price of 5,236 homes in Shirgaon has been reduced by Rs 1,43,404 each, bringing the new cost to Rs 19,28,742 per unit. Similarly, 1,012 homes in Khoni have seen a price drop of Rs 1,01,800, making the revised price Rs 19,11,700. These flats were initially made available under the October 2024 First Come, First Serve scheme. The board has appealed to all eligible citizens to apply and benefit from the new rates.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board (MBRRB) has issued a final notice regarding the biometric survey for tenants in transit camps under its jurisdiction. The survey, which began on 10 February 2025, is mandatory for official registration.

The board stated that those who fail to complete the survey will be deemed unauthorised and subject to eviction under Section 95(A)(3) of the MHADA Act, 1976. All remaining residents have been urged to comply immediately to avoid legal action.
