The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has invited global tenders to appoint a consultant for preparing Geographic Information System (GIS)-based development plans for areas surrounding interchanges on the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway.
According to the tender document, the selected consultant will be responsible for creating GIS base maps, carrying out Existing Land Use (ELU) surveys, and developing comprehensive GIS-based planning frameworks for the influence zones around interchanges along the 701-km access-controlled expressway.
The initiative aims to facilitate planned urbanisation and ensure organised development in areas expected to witness rapid industrial, commercial and economic growth due to improved connectivity provided by the Samruddhi Expressway.
MSRDC has scheduled a pre-bid meeting on August 12, 2026, at 3 pm at its headquarters in Kohinoor Square, Dadar West. Interested bidders must submit their proposals online by 3 pm on September 15, 2026. The tender also requires an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs 10 lakh.
The proposed consultancy is part of MSRDC’s broader vision to promote balanced and sustainable development along the expressway corridor, which is emerging as one of Maharashtra’s most significant infrastructure projects. By introducing GIS-based planning for interchange influence zones, the corporation intends to support scientific land-use planning, efficient infrastructure development and long-term urban expansion.
The development plans are expected to help identify suitable land uses, improve infrastructure planning and guide future investments in the areas surrounding the interchanges. The GIS-based framework will also assist authorities in managing growth while preserving environmental and regional planning objectives.
Stretching 701 km between Mumbai and Nagpur, the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg is one of India’s longest access-controlled expressways. The corridor features more than 20 interchanges, each spread across over 40 acres, making them potential hubs for future economic activity, logistics, industrial development and urban expansion across Maharashtra.
