Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has maintained a strong connection with Mumbai’s Pali Hill, where his family has lived for generations. Rather than shifting to a completely new address after entering the film industry, Hashmi expanded his family residence to create a larger duplex home.
The actor lives in Reshma Apartments on Nargis Dutt Road, Pali Hill, Bandra West, with his wife, Parveen Shahani, and their son, Ayaan. His association with the building predates his acting career. His grandmother, veteran Hindi-film actress Purnima, lived on the sixth floor, while his parents also remained in the building.
A Calm, Contemporary Mumbai Home

Hashmi’s interiors reflect his preference for a simple and uncluttered aesthetic. The residence combines white and beige tones with dark wood furniture, contemporary décor and statement lighting. Artwork and decorative objects collected by Hashmi and Parveen during their travels also feature throughout the home.
The duplex includes a private gym, a library and a dedicated media room designed for home entertainment. The library has dark wooden shelving and a collection that includes non-fiction books, political histories and biographies.
One of the property’s most distinctive features is its large verandah, which wraps around much of the residence. Surrounded by the mature greenery of Pali Hill, the outdoor space provides the family with privacy and an open-air setting within the city.b
Hashmi has previously spoken about enjoying his morning coffee on the verandah. Because of the surrounding trees and birds, the family has also installed protective netting to prevent birds from entering the home.
Goa Property Offers a Different Setting
Mumbai is not Hashmi’s only known residence. In June 2010, he purchased a second property in Goa as a getaway for breaks between film schedules.
The four-storey, fully furnished penthouse was reported to feature a private swimming pool, gym, garden and terrace overlooking the sea. Hashmi had planned to spend extended breaks there with family and friends.
While several online reports have linked the actor to other properties in destinations such as Lonavala and Himachal Pradesh, those claims have not been reliably established. His Goa residence, however, has been consistently reported as part of his property portfolio.
At the time of purchasing the retreat, Hashmi explained its intended purpose: “Whenever I get a week or more off from shoot, I’ll fly down to Goa and unwind there”.
A Home Rooted in Family and Privacy
Unlike the often-changing addresses associated with celebrity real estate, Hashmi’s Mumbai home reflects a long-standing family connection to Pali Hill. Its expanded duplex layout combines personal history, contemporary interiors and private recreational spaces, while the Goa penthouse provides a quieter escape from the demands of filming.
Together, the two properties offer contrasting settings — one in one of Mumbai’s established residential neighbourhoods and the other designed as a sea-facing holiday retreat.
