CM Fadnavis Reviews Key Mumbai Projects, Pushes For Faster Completion

August 5, 2025: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday reviewed 30 major infrastructure projects in Mumbai, directing that each be completed within three years of commencement to avoid unnecessary delays. The meeting, held in the War Room at Mantralaya, was attended by Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Chief Economic Advisor Praveen Pardeshi, senior officials, and district collectors, with some joining via video conferencing.

Fadnavis proposed developing housing projects near terminal stations of all metro lines to enhance connectivity and optimize urban land use. This marked his third War Room review since taking charge, following an earlier session where 33 projects and 135 key action points were discussed. Departments presented progress updates on the implementation of those decisions.

Emphasising the availability of advanced technology, Fadnavis urged proactive resolution of hurdles in metro and urban infrastructure projects. He instructed that funds for these works be released on a priority basis and that efficient mechanisms be established for their smooth execution.

The CM also mandated that all project data be updated exclusively on the Chief Minister’s Dashboard to avoid duplication, with War Room decisions implemented before the next review. Matters requiring higher approval should be submitted to the Cabinet, and any obstacles reported should be addressed immediately for resolution.

Officials informed that flat allotments for residents of Worli BDD Chawl will begin soon, with Naigaon and N.M. Joshi Marg residents are receiving their homes as scheduled.

The review covered high-impact projects including BDD Chawl Redevelopment, multiple Mumbai Metro lines, the Orange Gate–Marine Drive Tunnel, Borivali–Thane Twin Tunnel, Uttan–Virar Sea Link, Dharavi Redevelopment, Pune Metro, Goregaon–Mulund Link Road, North Coastal Road, Virar–Alibag Multimodal Corridor, Jalna–Nanded Expressway, Bandra–Versova Sea Link, and Vadhavan Port Development, among others.
