BSNL, ACES India To Power 4G/5G Connectivity On Mumbai Metro’s Aqua Line 3

October 15, 2025: Advanced Communications & Electronics Systems (ACES) India has partnered with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to deploy 4G and 5G in-building solutions (IBS) across Mumbai Metro’s newly inaugurated Aqua Line-3.

The partnership will cover the entire 33.5-kilometre underground corridor, including 27 stations and the connecting tunnels, ensuring uninterrupted high-speed mobile coverage for millions of daily commuters. The initiative aims to enhance passenger experience by enabling seamless connectivity throughout the metro journey.

According to the Chief General Manager of BSNL’s Maharashtra Telecom Circle, this marks BSNL’s first implementation of an advanced IBS network for a metro project in the state. He stated that the deployment reflects BSNL’s commitment to supporting Mumbai’s growing digital infrastructure and providing reliable, next-generation connectivity to urban transport systems.

The collaboration between BSNL and ACES India highlights the growing importance of robust digital networks in public transportation, aligning with India’s broader objectives of digital transformation and smart urban mobility.
