Mumbai Western Railway To Redevelop Seven Stations Via Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Under the first phase of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, seven stations on the Western Railway (WR) in Mumbai are slated to undergo a significant transformation. Charni Road, Grant Road, Jogeshwari, Marine Lines, Malad, Lower Parel, and Prabhadevi stations will receive a comprehensive facelift, enhancing passenger amenities and improving the overall infrastructure

With an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 50 crores, this redevelopment project has received approval from the Railway Board and aims to elevate the travel experience for commuters. The revamp work will encompass several aspects of station infrastructure, including basic amenities, façade, drainage systems, road and circulating areas, boundaries, entry/exit gates, platform surfaces, and plantation. In meticulous inspections conducted by senior WR officials, the amenities and facilities have been categorized into 20 to 25 segments
