Residents living within the 50-metre influence area of the upcoming underground Metro Line 3 from Colaba-SEEPZ Via Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) have to obtain prior permission from the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) for carrying out any redevelopment or development activities.
The MMRC, which is the project implementing authority, issued a notice on Wednesday which read, “In order to prevent any adverse impact on the Metro Tunnels resulting from any development/redevelopment, it is mandatory for property owners, landlords, societies, associations, and similar entities (within the 50-metre influence zone) to obtain approval before commencing any work including drilling of tubewells or sinking of wells, construction and demolition, geotechnical investigation, excavation, laying out any infrastructure among others.”
