High Court states to carry out the ongoing demolition project to expand the Mithi River

The Bombay High Court Vacation Bench allowed the continuous demolition of buildings to widen the Mithi River on Saturday. The court rejected the pleas of encroachers to stop or postpone the development project, citing a lack of evidence from tenants of residential and commercial buildings.

The vacation bench of Justices of High Court N. R. Borkar and Somasekhar Sundaresan, granted liberty to a set of appellant to approach the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to reconsider their ineligibility, and those who are already eligible, choose to accept a different arrangement or payment.
