Road construction that prevented water from reaching flamingo habitat has started by NMMC

Even though the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has not yet taken any action, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has begun work to remove the obstruction in one area in response to BJP MLA Ganesh Naik’s threat on Thursday that he would destroy a road that has impacted the flow of creek water into a flamingo habitat. Both bodies had received the warning from the Airoli MLA.

Following several protests from locals and environmentalists, Naik examined the 30-acre DPS lake on Thursday, which is close to the NRI Colony in Nerul. Officials from NMMC and CIDCO were also present.
