Mumbai Metro barricades are removed, freeing up 63% of city roads

Due to the underground Metro 3 project, barricades have been preventing access to various parts of the city for the past seven or eight years. These are now being taken down piece by piece; the barricades on D N Road were partially removed a fortnight ago, for instance. Local store owners who suffered because their customers were blocked out are hoping that commerce will go back up.

Businesses on D N Road, which links Churchgate railway station and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), were severely impacted by the barriers that were erected. Individuals were compelled to utilize the more intimate roads across the street, resulting in a sharp decline in sales for previously bustling stores.
