Five real estate developers have been taken into custody by the Bandra police for allegedly defrauding a widow of the flat she purchased in Bandra West in 2005. Partners in Suchit Developers, Lachman Sajnani, Anil Sajnani, Dilip Manghnani, Anant Rane, and Vikrant Vaidya are the individuals who were detained.
At first, the police refused to take the accused into custody in defiance of directives from the sessions court and the Bombay High Court. They didn’t take any action until Meena Tawrani, 64, the complainant’s counsel, approached Vivek Phansalkar, Commissioner of Police. Following their apprehension on Monday, the defendants were brought before the sessions court and placed in police detention until June 28.
