With the goal of improving connectivity and reducing traffic in Mumbai’s western suburbs, the Versova-Dahisar Link Road project is a critical piece of infrastructure that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is anxious to get the go-ahead for. When completed, this massive project—which will include several lanes, flyovers, and underpasses—would stretch over 24 kilometers and improve traffic flow between Versova and Dahisar. It promises to increase overall transportation efficiency, relieve pressure on the current road networks, and drastically cut travel times.
Despite completing all preliminary preparations, including detailed project planning and design, the BMC is currently awaiting environmental and coastal regulation zone (CRZ) clearances. These approvals are crucial due to the road’s proximity to sensitive ecological zones and coastal areas, necessitating adherence to stringent environmental safeguards.
