Mumbai’s Infrastructural Developments will be finished in a few years

Mumbai: With up to nine Metro rail projects, several suburban railway projects, and more than half a dozen road and bridge projects anticipated to be completed between 2024 and 2030, travel inside the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) is predicted to experience a radical transformation.

The MMR includes portions of the districts of Thane, Raigad, and Palghar in addition to the twin districts of Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban. The MMR encompasses 6,328 square kilometers and is divided into 1,425 villages, 44 census towns, nine municipal corporations, nine municipal councils, and one nagar panchayat. In MMR, a number of infrastructure projects are being carried out by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). An outline of Mumbai-MMR’s evolution can be found in the Maharashtra Economic Survey for 2023–2024. The Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro, which is 91% complete, is one of the major Metro projects that is still unfinished.
