In a significant boost for the redevelopment of Asia’s largest slum, a newly established association of Dharavi residents and neighboring areas has endorsed the state government’s ongoing survey of informal tenements. This survey is a critical step in the USD 3-billion project by the Adani group, which aims to transform the lives of approximately one million residents.
Representatives from the Citizen and Society Development Welfare, advocating under the banner of the Dharavi Banao Andolan, met with Srinivas and submitted a memorandum requesting the expedited completion of the survey in Dharavi.
