First BDD Chawl Residents to Move into New Flats by January 2025

The residents of Mumbai’s BDD Chawl redevelopment project will move into newly constructed flats in January 2025.

Around 600 households from the Worli BDD Chawl will receive contemporary housing units, representing a significant step forward in the city’s attempts to improve living conditions for approximately 16,000 families in four areas. The Maharashtra government-led project intends to replace the existing chawls with high-rise structures with greater amenities, ensuring a smoother transition to a more sustainable and improved lifestyle.
