The beginning of a major infrastructure project in Maharashtra will make travelling between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai considerably easier. In addition to reducing traffic between the two cities, this new project will accelerate economic growth in the area.
To link Navi Mumbai and Mumbai, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to construct a new Greenfield Access Controlled Road (ACR). The Vadodara-Mumbai motorway near Badlapur would be the starting point of this 20.6 km road project, which will lead to the Multi-Modal Corridor near Heduthane.
The MMRDA has started the bidding process to choose a consultant to study the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the new Greenfield Access Controlled Road between Navi Mumbai and Mumbai.
The fast-growing sub-regions of Badlapur, Ambernath, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, and Dombivli will have connectivity and economic growth thanks to the Navi Mumbai to Mumbai Greenfield Access Controlled Road. Modern road infrastructure will improve urban mobility, spur economic growth, and transform daily commutes.
Commuters will arrive in Mumbai in sixty minutes after the Navi Mumbai to Mumbai Greenfield Access Controlled Road is completed. In less than half an hour, one may also reach Navi Mumbai and the soon-to-be Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
To further improve infrastructure in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), the MMRDA inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore earlier this month. The MOUs were signed during the World Economic Forum (WEF), which is now taking place in Davos. Over the next three to five years, 11 MOUs have been inked to propose investments in a variety of infrastructure areas, such as urban transport, regional development, and cutting-edge technology.
