CIDCO Completes Multi-Level Car Park In Kharkopar In Record 42 Days Under Mission-45

In a remarkable feat of engineering and planning, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has completed the construction of a Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility in Kharkopar, Navi Mumbai, in just 42 days—setting a new benchmark in public infrastructure delivery. The project was undertaken as part of CIDCO’s ambitious ‘Mission-45’ initiative, aimed at accelerating infrastructure development across the city.

The accomplishment was celebrated in a formal ceremony held on Friday, attended by senior CIDCO officials including Vice Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Singhal, Joint Managing Director Shantanu Goel, Chief Engineer (Navi Mumbai International Airport) Sheela Karunakaran, and Additional Chief Engineer Prabhakar Phulari.

“At CIDCO, our motto is quality without compromise, speed without delay, and safety above all,” said Vijay Singhal. “The completion of this MLCP under Mission-45 exemplifies our commitment to setting new development benchmarks and creating better living environments.”

The MLCP is part of Package-4 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), where CIDCO is constructing over 67,000 affordable tenements across Navi Mumbai. Construction on the MLCP began on 4 March 2025 and was completed ahead of schedule on 17 April—three days before the target date. According to officials, such projects typically require at least six months for completion, making this milestone a significant leap in fast-track public construction.

CIDCO attributed this rapid execution to the adoption of advanced global precast technology. The structure, composed of 2,212 precast components, was completed from plinth to terrace using cutting-edge techniques that enhanced both speed and precision. The facility comprises a ground floor plus six upper levels, with the ground floor housing a Community Centre and the remaining floors designated for car parking.

Spanning a built-up area of 1.43 lakh square feet, the MLCP can accommodate up to 365 four-wheelers. It is intended to address the increasing challenge of vehicle parking in urban spaces, particularly within CIDCO’s housing projects in Navi Mumbai’s growing nodes.

An official highlighted the strategic value of the facility: “CIDCO’s affordable housing complexes are located in well-connected and fully developed areas of Navi Mumbai. They feature modern amenities that rival private developments. The MLCP complements these schemes by adding essential infrastructure that contributes to organised and more liveable urban communities.”

This project not only showcases CIDCO’s efficiency in delivering public infrastructure at speed but also reinforces its role in shaping Navi Mumbai into a more accessible and sustainable urban hub.
