Actor Amrita Rao and radio host RJ Anmol recently gave viewers a glimpse inside their Mumbai home during an appearance on Farah Khan’s YouTube channel. The apartment reflects a warm and personal aesthetic, combining soft tones, artwork and family-oriented spaces instead of heavily stylised luxury interiors.
The mood of the home is set right at the entrance with a bright pink main door, which immediately drew Farah Khan’s attention during the house tour.

“Trust Amrita to have a pink door. She must have convinced Anmol, too,” Farah remarked while entering the apartment.
The interiors feature a peach-toned colour palette paired with neutral walls, mirror-panelled accents and comfortable seating arrangements. A pink-toned sofa placed in the living room became another focal point during the tour.
“This pink sofa. I love it,” Farah said, while also commenting on the apartment’s coordinated colour scheme. “I like it. This peachy tone. This is the Pantone colour.”

The house also includes a relaxed balcony area and several personal décor elements that reflect the couple’s interests and memories.
Among the standout pieces in the apartment is an original painting by celebrated artist M. F. Husain. On seeing the artwork, Farah reacted with surprise.
“Oh my God. It’s a real Husain,” she said, to which Amrita replied, “Yes.”
The painting reportedly draws inspiration from Amrita Rao’s film Vivah. Farah jokingly added, “Husain sir pagal ho gaye the na Vivah dekh kar?”

The home also features a portrait inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s iconic look from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, blending classic cinema references with personal décor choices.
Speaking about the psychological effect of warm colours in living spaces, Sonal Khangarot, licensed rehabilitation counsellor and psychotherapist at The Answer Room, explained that shades like pink and peach can create a calming and emotionally reassuring atmosphere.

“Warm tones like pink and peach can significantly influence how emotionally safe and comfortable a space feels,” she said.

Khangarot added that softer shades may help reduce agitation while creating a more relaxed and grounded environment, especially in urban homes where comfort and emotional balance are important. She also highlighted the importance of decluttered layouts, natural lighting and meaningful personal objects in creating homes that feel both visually appealing and emotionally comforting.
