At the Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, Nita Ambani announced three major initiatives spanning education, healthcare and urban green infrastructure, aimed at strengthening Mumbai’s long-term development.
Among the key announcements was the proposal for a world-class private university that will be developed on a 410-acre campus at Donagiri. The institution is planned to house seven specialised schools focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, technology, management, law, medicine and public policy. The project is envisioned as a multidisciplinary centre for higher education and research.
Nita Ambani also outlined plans for a modern medical city, which is expected to enhance healthcare infrastructure and support advanced medical services. The initiative forms part of a broader vision to improve access to quality healthcare while creating a comprehensive ecosystem for treatment, research and innovation.
In addition, she unveiled the Coastal Road Gardens project, a large-scale public green space planned along Mumbai’s coastline. Spread across approximately 130 acres, the development will feature more than 60,000 trees and include a range of recreational, cultural and sporting amenities.
The project is designed to create one of Mumbai’s largest waterfront public spaces, offering residents access to landscaped gardens, sports facilities, community areas and cultural venues. Beyond recreation, the gardens are expected to contribute to environmental sustainability by expanding the city’s green cover and creating a significant urban open space.
Together, the three initiatives reflect a focus on enhancing Mumbai’s educational, healthcare and public infrastructure landscape while supporting the city’s long-term growth and quality of life.
