Panvel Municipal Commissioner Mangesh Chitale reviewed ongoing civic development projects and preparations for Ganeshotsav 2026 on Friday, directing various departments to speed up pending works and ensure essential arrangements are completed before the festival.
The department-wise review meeting was held at the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) headquarters on September 4, with senior officials discussing infrastructure projects, festival arrangements and citizen-related issues.
Ganeshotsav Arrangements Get Priority
Key discussions focused on the construction and preparation of artificial immersion ponds and repairs to roads along Ganesh idol immersion routes. Chitale instructed the concerned departments to complete these works on priority to ensure smooth movement and safer arrangements for devotees during the festival.
Officials also reviewed complaints submitted through the Aaple Sarkar and PG portals. Departments were asked to address pending grievances quickly and ensure that citizens receive timely responses.
Monsoon and Civic Enforcement Measures
With the monsoon continuing, the commissioner directed civic departments to strengthen preventive measures against the spread of communicable diseases. Officials also reviewed measures related to encroachments, unauthorised hoardings and dangerous buildings across the municipal area.
The commissioner stressed the need for coordination among departments so that ongoing works and public-safety measures are completed within the required timelines.
Senior Officials Attend Meeting
The review meeting was attended by Additional Commissioners Ganesh Shete and Mahesh Kumar Meghmale, Transport Manager Kailas Gawde, Chief Accounts Officer Poonam Patil and Deputy Commissioners Dr Vaibhav Vidhate, Abhishek Paradkar, Ravikiran Ghodke and Mangala Malve.
Assistant Commissioners Subodh Thanekar and Balaram Ratambe, City Engineer Rajesh Kardile, Chief Medical Officer Dr Anand Gosavi, Executive Engineer Vilas Chavan, Education Officer Ramesh Chavan, Accounts Officer Sangram Rhorakate, ward superintendents and other senior officials were also present.
The PMC said the meeting was aimed at accelerating infrastructure projects, resolving public complaints and ensuring timely arrangements for Ganeshotsav. Departments have been directed to work in coordination and complete priority projects and festival-related preparations without delay.
