Driving from Bandra to the southern areas of Mumbai took at least half an hour in the early 2000s. When the Bandra-Worli Sea Link was built in 2009, the suburbs became more accessible to the metropolis, changing that. Nowadays, it only takes ten minutes to travel from Bandra to Worli.
After fifteen years, it is evident that the 5.6-kilometer cable-stayed bridge signalled the beginning of a new phase in the city’s infrastructure development. These long-term initiatives, which include improvements to the rail system, roads, and slum rehabilitation, have the potential to completely transform the city in the years to come.
