This week saw the first metro train on a pre-trial run into the island metropolis of Mumbai, marking a crucial milestone for the city’s metro rail system. The train left the Aarey metro station and made its way down the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz (Metro 3) corridor, which stretched all the way to Dadar.
The trial run was conducted with the intention of assessing the tracks’ state. A few days later, there will be more frequent train service, not just to Dadar but also all the way south to the Siddhivinayak Metro station. The only corridor that would accommodate passengers from south Mumbai is Metro 3.
