The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has acquired the no objection certificate (NOC) for the construction of a launch shaft from the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) site near P D’Mello Road, which is a huge boost to the Orange Gate-Marine Drive tunnel project.
1.96 hectares total—0.71 hectares of permanent space and 1.25 hectares of temporary area—make up the allotted land. Sources claim that MMRDA will soon give the contractor access to this site so that tunnel construction can begin.
